Programs of Study
Concentration in Women's Studies
The UCLA Women's Studies Program offers a
Concentration in Women's Studies to allow graduate students enrolled in
UCLA departments, programs and professional schools to acquire expertise
and a credential in Women's Studies.The requirements for the Women's
Studies Concentration are in addition to the requirements of the student's
primary program in their department or school. Upon completion of the
requirements, Women's Studies will furnish each concentrator with a letter
attesting to their basic competency in graduate work in Women's Studies.
Required Courses
Women's Studies 201, 202, and 210--the
introductory courses in Women's Studies.
Women's Studies 204--research seminar sponsored by Center for the Study of
Women (one-unit course taken for two quarters).
Research Paper
Students submit a Women's Studies-related research paper. This paper may
have been prepared in any graduate course (in Women's Studies or the
student's home department, program, or school) but should reflect the
concepts, theories, knowledge, and/or methods used in Women's Studies. The
paper is approved by a faculty member designated by the Chair of the
Graduate Committee.
Admissions & Application Procedures
All
graduate students in good standing enrolled in UCLA departments, programs and
professional schools are eligible. Admission is not competitive but space in courses is limited. Enrollment in
each course is by instructor consent. To apply for the concentration in Women's
